Makeshift animal shelter near Ukraine-Poland border struggles to get supplies for abandoned pets

As the Russian-Ukraine war continues to rage throughout the country, hundreds of thousands of men and women are fleeing the violence. While quite a few households have made a decision to provide their animals with them, other individuals had been forced to leave their beloved animals behind.

A shelter at the Ukraine-Poland border has been made to care for these animals, WTOP information studies. The staff, who are volunteers, are caring for cats, canine and lots of other animals who have been rescued from Ukraine.

A single worker explained that quite a few of the animals are traumatized and probably came from places that were attacked by Russian forces.

“Some of them are road canine, they have in no way been in human arms,” Sonja Mortensen-Dissing told the Related Press. “Other types are loved ones puppies that are just still left, and in some cases with a letter in which they generate, ‘We hope we can discover our canine and cats again.'”

Victoria Trofimenko, a 42-12 months-outdated mother, required to remain in Kyiv with her family, but she at some point fled the money with her daughter, mom, pet dog and cat just after missiles and explosives strike close to residence.

Trofimenko noted she felt grateful for the defense her family’s pet has supplied throughout their arduous journey.
