- Breeding Philosophy -

If it don't look like a race dog, it ain't. It is merely a draft animal until proven otherwise.

Draft animals are good for one thing, long distance racing, race dogs can do both and make faster long distance dogs. We've watched too many dogs in harness both in our team and other teams and know the speed it takes not to have any other opinion. Until someone shows us that a "draft animal" can average at least 17 mph, steady, for 16 miles, all the tea in China will not convince us otherwise. So, right off hand in our kennel, do we give dogs a chance? Yup, we most certainly do. Wizard in our opinion looks more like a drafter than a racer and he is very easily running with our best. Point made. We look at this with a fine tooth comb. The "stop watch" can dictate nothing but.

And, BTW, we are breeding dogs to go faster than 17mph for open class speed racing.
