- Tacoma's Surprise -

It ain't over till it's over. Yes, I am a baseball fan.

We've done enough business through the years with a veterinarian in Chugiak, she is on-call for us 24-7s, drop of the hat. She does a lot of "extra" stuff and always goes the extra mile.

Recently or a few weeks ago, we bred Tacoma to Casper and because of her age we opted to transport her to Rick's where if anything happened, veterinary care would be a moment away. Since we were planning on doing a number of other breedings we wanted to know if the Tacoma x Casper breeding took. After a recommended period of developmental time, Tacoma was both x-rayed and had an ultra-sound. Do I hear the sound of chink, chink, chink? Yep, wasn't cheap. "Big" let down as the results indicated no pups in incubation. So, off we went making plans with the other bitches.

A few days ago Rick noticed Tacoma was starting to swell in the abdomen and the vet thought she may have pymetrea, even a smear indicated that, so we planned on getting her spayed today.

Surgery ensued and she was opened up. What happened next caused the opera to commence. Flabergasted eveyone who was involved following this story. There are at least 4 pups, two verifiably alive the others maybe. Without wasting any time, Tacoma was immediately stitched back up.

Excuse me, did I say "happy days".
