About Skye ...
Skye joined Braeburn at 8 weeks old from Barking Brook Siberians in August 2007. Skye has the same grandmother as Taka and Fen, Blackwater's Ruby SD, an accomplished dog. The first dog I owned was a golden retriever who was my faithful companion for 15 years; he was just “one of those special dogs”. I've had many dogs since I lost him in 1988, but as fabulous as they all have been, and are, none have had that completely magical and spiritual connection that sometimes happens between people and between people and animals. Skye and I (Kathy) have that connection! He is smart, observant, sensitive, loving, spirited, intuitive and equally comfortable with his canine and human family. He is also a gorgeous dog in terms of structure, movement and looks. At 4 months he donned his first harness and free ran with the team at the start of fall training. At 6 months, he completed his first short run with the team and slipped right in as if he'd been doing it forever; no muss, no fuss and a tight tug line!

At 10 months, he has had a season of running successfully with the team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and an ability to learn quickly, stay focused, and remain tuned into the driver. Whether at home or on the trail, Skye has the free spirit of the Siberian balanced with a strong sense of loyalty. We are thrilled to have him as a member of the Braeburn family and look forward to his life with us a sled dog, sire and companion.
