About Ari ...
Ari was bred by us, is Taka's daughter and sister to Phoebe and Deimos. With a North Wapiti and Blackwater heritage and with her excellent structure and movement, we are excited about her upcoming first season ('08-'09) as a yearling. Ari is a sensitive and quiet dog, very tuned into her canine and human families. When other young dogs are in need of reassurance or some quiet hang time, they often seek Ari's company, seeming to know that she will simply accept them. This may be due in part to the fact that Ari got glaucoma at 7 weeks old and is now blind in one eye. She spent a lot of time early on making trips to the vet and receiving various treatments, an experience which made a strong bond with us as she knew we were trying to help. She has adjusted to only one field of vision and with her smarts and sensitivity, we fully anticipate that she will become a solid sled dog, perhaps even a leader.

.Like her sister Phoebe, we look forward to supporting her growth as a sled dog, as a companion, and perhaps also as an emotional therapy dog since she seems to have that temperament.
