About Alec ...
We adopted Alec in August 2005. He was bred by Ann and George Cook of Alkas'iber Kennel. He lived first with Kim and Kelly Berg of Kelim Siberians and then with Jaye Foucher of SiberSong. He is Xandra's brother (therefore uncle to Asia, Jasper, Blaze and Ace) and so it is really nice to have him as a part of the family. Alec is an accomplished dog! In the show ring he has earned AKC Championship. He has also earned his Sled Dog title from the Siberian Husky Club of America.Alec has been the alpha dog of the pack from the moment of his arrival, making this perfectly clear simply through his presence and way of being; he commands and gets respect through benevolent leadership.

.He has never fought with anyone, although will give a warning growl to say “back off” if someone gets on his nerves or crowds his space. All of the dogs are either good friends with Alec or simply deferential to him, with the exception of his nephew Jasper (one of Xandra's children) who has alpha goals of his own. Alec is a softie at heart with a great sense of humor. He loves his morning and evening massages, to play with toys and with us, to go for car rides in the front passenger seat, and to hang out in the house on the dog beds! Alec is a trooper in harness. He is a capable leader, team dog and wheel dog. He is not our fastest dog, but he is one our most experienced, versatile and dependable dogs with a positive attitude and a good work ethic; we can always count on him. To us, Alec is the quintessential Siberian.
